I was at my local Kroger shopping for a turkey breast to cook and was surprised to find raw turkey necks in the meat cooler along side the turkeys. What was I thinking, it is Thanksgiving season, after all!
I occasionally try to add some raw into my dogs’ diet for their teeth cleaning, and the necks were perfect and very inexpensive during this time of year. Since the weather is still sunny, they can spend an afternoon outside chewing to their heart’s content to earn their daily meal while cleaning their teeth. How good is this: entertainment, superior nutrition and contribution to a pretty smile 🙂
Since the price was WAY cheaper than the raw meat sold at my local pet store, I bought several packages and stuck them in the freezer for another sunny day when my dogs need to get their chewing fix.
